About Harry

Cambridge Group was founded by Harry J. Sauer in 2001, when he realized the need for a customized training and educational program for professionals working within the staffing and recruitment industry.

Harry has focused his career in the search and placement field for almost three decades. After 3 years with Coopers & Lybrand in Boston, Harry began his career in the staffing industry in 1977, by purchasing the Philadelphia franchise of Romac and Associates. In 1994, Harry restructured the organization to form ACSYS Resources, which merged with other independent regional staffing firms in 1997 to form ACSYS Inc.

As a Founder and Chief Operating Officer of ACSYS Inc., Harry transformed what was a $40mm regional Accounting, Finance and Information Technology staffing firm into a $180mm publicly traded company with over 40 offices nationwide. While at ACSYS, Harry was responsible for providing planning and development in the areas of infrastructure, product line management, staff retention, expansion, compensation and budgeting. He created best practices and national policies for the temporary and permanent search sectors and was instrumental in the development of ACSYS’ national training programs. In addition, Harry developed programming and strategy for internet recruiting, career tracking, interoffice guidelines and corporate communications.

Harry also served on the ACSYS Board of Directors, providing advice and counsel on mergers and acquisitions, compensation guidelines, stock option plans, financial results and ultimately the sale of the company to Vedior NV, the third largest staffing organization in the world.
